Sir,

If ever a lesson can be learned by us all, it is on Pembrokeshire County Council's problem parking fiasco, now fast becoming a tragedy. As its serious impact on traders, business and family members takes hold, it has blighted town and village life; ill thought out and brutal in its execution, it is the absolute embodiment of a county council solely driven by their need to make money and without any thought or consideration for everyone affected by their OTT measures.

They thought only of what they could take, not a thought to what they could give. Were they to walk around Tenby or Saundersfoot today, they could meet people and listen to the problems that they have caused. Now for some nitty-gritty. Did the draughters of PP speak with people of town and village on site where they live, shop and work? If not, just who did they listen to? What ground work was done? Very little, it would appear.

I read Clr. J. Adams named, rather ungallantly I thought, Clr. Mike Evans as a staunch supporter. Was there no one else? Was he the only one? And what of the other 60 or so county councillors, did they have any input? Like all those at HQ, Haverfordwest, they seem to be keeping very quiet now.

And it begs the question: what is going on? Who, if anyone, is doing what they can to make it right? Is anybody doing anything? The silence is truly deafening.

The word has gone out that shoppers with cars are not welcome in the Tenby and Saundersfoot area. Now PCC, you caused the problem, you deal with it and do it now. Make it right and make it quick and start with free parking every day to 11 am and after 4 pm, as in other parts of the UK. Tidy.

Ken Fryer,

Tenby.
