The annual general meeting was held on April 3 at Heywood Mount Hotel.

Treasurer Rosemary gave a detailed report on the club's finances and confirmed that, as result of the club's vigorous fundraising activities in 2011-2012, considerable donations had been given to both local, national and international organisations and charities.

These included Greenhill School Performing Arts, Tenby Youth Club, Tinkers Hill Bird Sanctuary, Friends of the Community, Christmas hampers, Buy-A-Bolt, Guides Hall Trust, Barnardo's, Altzheimers' Society, Paul Sartori, Soldiers' Parcels, Olympic Trafficking, Water Aid and Mary's Meals.

President Dilys gave a brief overview of the many activities that had taken place during her year of office and thanked fellow members for all their support and hard work in her year of office.

Past president Sonia then gave a vote of thanks to president Dilys for her diligent commitment to the club in the preceding year.

The club held its annual handover dinner on April 17 at Heywood Mount Hotel and were delighted to welcome as its guests the presidents of Inner Wheel, Ladies Circle and Tangent.

After a delicious meal, president Dilys thanked the members of the executive committee and presented them with beautiful brooches which she had made herself. The brooches were fashioned in a series of green, white and purple beads, denoting the colours of the Suffragette Movement.

Incoming president Judy Brew was then presented with her chain of office by Dilys. Judy in turn presented president-elect Elanor with her chain of office.

Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the evening and grateful thanks, as always, are extended to Dennis Andrews and his staff for helping to make the dinner such a success.
