Macmillan Cancer Support is looking for volunteers to help out at Ironman Wales on Sunday, September 18.
The charity is looking for 30 volunteers to help on the day by forming a cheer-point, to cheer on and motivate the athletes who will be partaking in the gruelling triathlon to raise money for people affected by cancer.
Cheer-points are great fun, and very rewarding, as you will be supporting people during their challenge, helping make it one of the best days of their lives!
“The support on the day at Ironman Wales is so valuable! Having a group of people cheering you on keeps you going, and makes the day even better, I couldn’t have got through it without them!” (Ironman Wales participant).
The cheer-point will be based on the junction between Marsh Road and Narberth Road in the centre of Tenby. Volunteers are needed from 1.30 to 8 pm to coincide with the highest number of runners passing. However, whatever time you have spare, whether this is two or three hours, the charity be grateful!
If you can help, or know someone who would be interested, Macmillan Cancer Support would love to hear from you!
