A very successful Exemption Dog Show, organised by Pembrokeshire Canine Association in aid of the Guide Dogs for the Blind, was held on Sunday, July 5, at the Merlins Bridge playing fields.

Regrettably, the weather was rather unsettled, and therefore the event was held in the hall.

There was an excellent number of entries from all over the county and further afield, with dogs of all sizes. The judge for the afternoon was Mr. Lynn Snow and the competent compere was Amy Osborne-Holmes, both of whom worked very hard to keep everything running smoothly.

Eva Rich, secretary of the Tenby and Pembrokeshire Fundraising Branch of Guide Dogs, who was accompanied by her black labrador guide dog Angie, expressed the sincere thanks of the branch to Pembrokeshire Canine Association for arranging the event again this year, with special thanks to the judge and compere, Mr. Paul Noott, of Haverfordwest, who had once again sponsored the event, and to everyone who attended and supported the show.

The total raised was almost £550, which will help towards the training of guide dogs for visually impaired people, providing mobility and independence in safety.
