Sir, I was interested to read Mr. Osborne's letter in the Tenby Observer, Friday, August 18. Whenever I walk up Frog Street and see the developers' sign, I am greatly saddened that this hitherto unseen and beautiful part of Tenby is to be hidden by flats. The area revealed would make a lovely garden and enhance the many interesting and historical beauties of Tenby still further - or am I being impossibly naive in the face of the commercial interests at stake? Perhaps we should be kicking ourselves that, as a town, we didn't realise either that the Cobourg estate was up for sale or what a great amenity it could have been for us all. I wonder if there is any way in which Tenby Town Council could influence the developers to ensure that the many people in the town who have enjoyed the new view of the walls can continue to do so? Of course, it would be wonderful if we, as a town, could buy out the developers, but I agree with Mr. Osborne that this is probably an unrealistic idea.
Jo Tasker, Tenby.
