A group of short mat bowlers from Letterston and the Badgers made the annual trip to compete in the bowls competition at Bodelwyddan Castle in North Wales.

The singles saw five players reach the knockout stage, with Jeanette Richards and Bernard Williams, of Letterston, both reaching the semi-final and in close matches just lost out on reaching the final.

In the pairs, four teams won their round robin matches. Steve Dick and Nev Ruff reached the semi-final, only to lose by two shots on the last end. Jeanette and Gareth Richards, with some first class bowling, won their way to the Friday final and in a close match just lost out on the last end.

Three teams competed in the triples, with two winning through undefeated in the round robin. One team of Nev Ruff, Gareth Richards and Steve Dick reached the final and, with all three bowling well, won the final 11 shots to five.

Once again, Pembrokeshire short mat bowlers have shown they can compete at any venue. Viv, Dick and Val Ruff even won the quiz and Ann Williams won the bingo!
