Shopkeepers in Pembrokeshire are being urged to stay alert and think about security.
The call comes after a vehicle was stopped by Pembrokeshire Roads Policing Unit on the A40 on Sunday and found to contain nearly £5,000 of stolen goods.
The items had come from a number of shops in Haverfordwest and Milford Haven. Two men have been charged in connection with the incident.
DS Paul Callard said: "It is our belief that Pembrokeshire is being targeted by shoplifting gangs from other areas.
"The items recovered this weekend include six shower units, three computers, aftershave and a significant amount of clothing and shoes. "We are urging retailers to be alert and review their security procedures.
"We will not tolerate shop lifters targeting Pembrokeshire and will be increasing our patrols in retail areas, but shop keepers need to support us by having appropriate security measures in their stores."
