Fresh local produce is now available in Pembrokeshire at the click of a button.

Pembrokeshire Produce Direct at http://www.pembrokeshireproducedirect.co.uk">www.pembrokeshireproducedirect.co.uk is a new concept in food shopping that enables anyone in West Wales to order locally-produced goods on the internet or over the phone and have them delivered directly to their door.

All sorts of produce, from meat and fish to vegetables, breads, cakes, cheese, milk, flavoured drinks, spring water, and more is available on its website.

The venture, which is now up and running, aims to make local produce more accessible to everyone in the community.

The scheme's general manager, James Ross, said: "It's about getting local food to as many local people as we can. It couldn't be more simple, fresh or fun."

Kate Morgan, food officer for Pembrokeshire County Council, said the scheme was a new and exciting way to buy fresh local produce from local producers.

The scheme has around 50 producers offering 1,000 products from Pembrokeshire and neighbouring counties.

Deliveries take place on Thursdays or Fridays, not only to private homes, but also workplaces, schools or wherever suits you best.

The not-for-profit co-operative was developed with the assistance of Pembrokeshire County Council and funded by The European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development.
