An entry of 60 rams at the last special sheep sale at Whitland Mart met a selective trade. Top price was 245 guineas for a two-year-old Texel ram from Brian Thomas, Carswell, St. Florence. Yearling rams sold to 225 guineas from Paul Monahan, Biggins Hill, Waterston, and 205 guineas from Rees, Kiln Park. A good entry of 673 breeding ewes saw more of a variation of ages than in recent sales. Yearling ewes made a top price of £80 from James, Tycanol. Other yearlings made £76 (twice) from Davies, Cerrigman, £75 from Evans, Hillcroft, Johnston, and £72 from Ward, Smith's Farm, Marloes.
