Three fishermen have been thanked for rescuing three sheep from the sea near Giltar Point on Sunday morning.
The sheep, believed to have fallen into the water from the cliffs at the back of Giltar, were recovered by the crews of 'The Buccaneer' and 'The Teddy' at approximately 8 am.
Tenby inshore lifeboat was also launched to assist, while members of the coastguard rescue team met with fishermen, Dale Hilling, Nigel Batton and Phil Whittaker, when they landed the sheep at the Penally end of the South Beach and thanked them for their help.
Two of the sheep were well, but one was badly injured and sadly later died of its injuries.
The local vet was duly called and the owner of the sheep notified, while the inshore crew carried out a search of the area to make sure no other sheep were in the water.
