A LOCAL woman taking part in a sponsored slim is already well on her way to shedding the pounds to raise plenty of pounds for the Gareth Scotcher Trust Fund.

Alison Vickery, from Valley Road in Saundersfoot, has been using the Herbal Life diet to help with her quest to lose five stones in the space of five months.

Alison was delighted to report last week that she had already lost half-a-stone within a week.

Gareth from Tenby has been struck with Motor Neurone disease and the funds raised by Alison will go towards his charity trust.

Sponsor forms can be found around local businesses, while Alison also hopes to embark on a bucket collection soon around the local pubs.

The fund-raising slimmer is also looking to arrange a special charity Girls v Boys rugby match in November, with the ladies expecting to give the Tenby United team a run for their money, unless the current side shapes up in time!
