Sir,
I am becoming concerned by the claims made to this 'paper and elsewhere about an alleged redevelopment scheme including my Francis Yard car park.
Rather than write to all of my car park tenants individually, I wish to set the record straight through an open letter via your newspaper. The facts of the matter are as follows:
Francis Yard car park is not for sale and never has been since I have owned it, nor is it likely to be in the foreseeable future.
The site contains 41 garages and around 50 parking spaces, all of which are rented to residents of the town and local businesses, most of whom are based within the walls.
There is also a security compound used by my garage business, without which my garage could not trade.
I have had uninvited approaches from two developers in the past, neither of whom has any ongoing interest in any project including the site.
No planning applications have been submitted, nor are any being prepared that I am aware of.
I have given no authority for any unelected group to discuss my business, nor have I any intention of discussing my business affairs with them.
Claims in the press that lead to loss of rental income will result in legal action for damages against the person(s) making those claims.
Irrespective of who they claim to represent, I will pursue legal action against them personally.
Paul Evenden, Evenden Properties, Park Road Garages, Tenby.
