Tenby-based Seren School of Irish Dancing recently took part in the Irish Open Championship at the City West Hotel, Dublin.

Fifteen dancers went across to compete and 10 of them came back with medals. Prizes where won by the following: Aiva Brace 13th, Lily Bowen 12th, Nicola Tulley 11th, Emily Dilks 11th, Evie Griffiths sixth, Kelis Wharton third, Alisha Phillips second, Leeza Owen second, Kristian Westmacott first and Shelby Parmanand first.

Dance teachers Lizzie Cheryl and Jasmin were immensely proud of all dancers that took part as in it self is a massive achievement. They would like to take this opportunity to thank the following for sponsoring and there kind donations to help fund this trip: West Wales Hydroponics, J.G. Plant, Twisted Tangles, Tenby Round Table, Fecci Fish and Chip Shop, Top to Toe and Sun Kissed.

Following this competition, Kristian Westmacott and Shelby Parmanand have qualified to dance at the world championship that is held in Killarney at the end of June. Due to this, an 18+ disco is being held at Tenby Rugby Club on June 2. If anyone would like to purchase tickets, they are available from Dales Music Shop and Nicola Broadhurst. All money raised will help fund for the two dancers to take part and dance at the world competition. Hope to see you all there.
