Tenby-based Seren School of Irish Dancing recently competed in the Irish open championships which were held in Dublin.
A total of 20 dancers from the school competed, and they came home with six places won by Caitlin Rawlins (11th), Keira Slack (9th), Shelby Parmanand (8th), Jasmin Hicks (6th), Molly Ashton (2nd), Kira Hardy (1st).
Dance teachers Cheryl Clarke and Lizzie John said how proud they were off all the dancers who competed. The competition was a very high standard, competing against dancers from all over Ireland, even as far as America.
This was Cheryl and Lizzie's first time getting a 1st place in the Irish opens which was won by Kira Hardy.
Cheryl and Lizzie also had two dancers qualify through to the world championships. These dancers are Kira Hardy and Shannon Robins. Sadly, Shannon will not be able to compete after injuring her ankle and will need an operation on it this year.
Cheryl and Lizzie have both said how excited they are about having a dancer compete in the world championships which are held this weekend in Wexford, and would like to wish Kira Hardy the best of luck.
