There's a different world over the tops of the hedgerows and the best way to see it in Pembrokeshire is from the saddle.

This Bike Week (June 17-25) why don't you dust down that two wheeled 'thing' that been gathering cobwebs in the corner of the shed, get together with friends or family and head out into the countryside.

Pembrokeshire has some of the most stunning scenery in the UK and you're probably missing out on it, so head to either Newport or Saundersfoot and sample some of the best riding in the county. Newport and Saundersfoot are part of a Wales wide project called Wales Cycle Breaks. In conjunction with Visit Wales and five local authorities - including Pembrokeshire County Council - centres or hubs of cycling excellence have been developed to encourage visitors and locals alike to get out on their bikes and explore the countryside.

The five cycle routes from Newport and five from Saundersfoot vary from 16 to 34 miles taking in the coastline, the wild Preseli Hills, the Gwaun Valley and The Daugleddau Estuary to name just a few highlights.

They take between a few hours and a whole day to complete but it's really up to you to set the pace. If you find that perfect spot for a picnic or want to dip your toes in the sea just that bit longer, don't worry, enjoy it, all of the routes have short cuts that will bring you back well before dark!

Details of all cycling opportunities, including Cycle Breaks, in Pembrokeshire can be found on the website http://www.cyclepembrokeshire.com">www.cyclepembrokeshire.com
