Over 250 people took advantage of the sunny weather and the free entry to attend the special Heritage Open Day at the National Trust's Colby Woodland Garden last weekend.
Head gardener Steve Whitehead was delighted by the turnout and took time out to show visitors some of the garden's prize trees.
One of the highlights of the day was the cookery demonstration by Sam Reohorn, of the Bothy Tearoom, as she let visitors into the secret recipe for 'Polish Cake' - handed down to her by her grandmother, who in turn was given it by a Polish refugee during the second world war.
Sam and her mother Penny Jackson run the tearoom together and all the cakes are freshly baked on the premises.
