TENBY UTD. 2nd XV 16 pts CRYMYCH SECONDS 6
On a sunny Saturday afternoon, Tenby Seconds welcomed a strong Crymych team to Heywood Lane.
Tenby kicked off into a keen breeze and from the start made their intentions clear, with some strong running from the front eight almost resulting in a try.
Some excellent lineout work by Chris Brace and Nicky Allen ensured that the talented backline received the quality ball they needed to attack, with scrum-half Neil Duffy setting them free. More of the same followed throughout the first half, with only a strong Crymych defence stopping the Tenby XV from scoring.
A late Neil Powling penalty for Tenby and an earlier successful Crymych penalty brought the first half to a close at three-all.
Tenby upped a gear in the second half and came out all guns blazing, which led to Crymych conceding a penalty. A strong drive by the Tenby pack at the resulting lineout forced Rob 'Jazzy' Thomas over in the corner, for a Powling converted try.
Tenby kept the pressure on for the remainder of the game and two Neil Powling penalties saw them to a well-deserved 16-6 win, to maintain the United's unbeaten record.
This week, Tenby Seconds entertain Pembroke in a rearranged fixture.
