Another local solicitor caught up in what has been described as the largest natural disaster in living memory was Vicky Hains, of West Williamston. Vicky, a partner with Hains and Lewis, which has offices in Narberth and Haverfordwest, was spending a Christmas holiday on a Malaysian island with her friend Sarah Roberts, of Woods Cross, Narberth, and her three sons when the devastating tidal wave hit. No-one in their party was hurt, but the island they were staying on suffered widespread devastation and loss of life. Said Vicky's mother, Jean: "They arrived home late on Tuesday night. They are all right, but need time to rest."
