Some of you may remember that a 'Ball in the Hall' was held last year at the Martletwy YFC Hall because Yvette Weblin-Grimsley from Cresselly had bought a second-hand ballgown and had nowhere to wear it, so decided to organise her own ball. As a result, the grand sum of £1,500 was raised for Wales Air Ambulance and Ward 10 at Withybush. It was such a resounding success that she decided to do 'Ball in the Hall 2' this year and promptly set about trying to find another second-hand dress which might be as lucky as last year's. A second- hand vintage skirt was purchased for the princely sum of £8.50 and away they went again! This year the chosen charity was Wales Air Ambulance and another magnificent sum of £1,220 was raised. Yvette would like to take the opportunity of thanking all those who supported the Ball in the Hall, by giving raffle prizes and items to be auctioned, purchasing raffle tickets, giving donations to the charity even though they did not attend the ball and, of course, helping to decorate the hall and clear up on the 'day after'! A grand time was had by all, thanks to all concerned and here's to Ball in the Hall 3! Special thanks once again to Maurice and Janet Cole, not only for their generosity and help, but for being such stars - a cheque in the sum of £1,210 has been forwarded to Wales Air Ambulance.
