Pembrokeshire rugby fans will be heading for Narberth on Sunday, April 29, to watch the return fixture against Neath in the second of special games arranged as a tribute to former Neath and Wales prop, Brian Williams. Dorian Phillips, a former club chairman for Narberth, is heading up a committee of former players who played in the same Narberth teams as Brian Williams. Officials involved with the club at that time are also on the committee, including another former chairman, John Mathias. Talking recently to Observer Sport, Dorian Phillips said: "We will be having a marquee at the ground for family and friends of Brian Williams and we would also like to arrange a reunion of all the former Narberth and Pembrokeshire players who played with Brian Williams. "In particular, we would like to see county players who played with Brian in the match for Pembrokeshire against Japan and former Narberth players who played with Brian Williams in the year that we first won the Pembrokeshire Cup in 1981. "There will be an auction at 5.30 pm after the match when supporters will have a chance to bid for some rugby memorabilia and other items. There will also be an auction of promises, including family days out at Pembrokeshire holiday attractions, a chance to be a mascot in an Ospreys home match, together with lunches and dinners at local hotels and restaurants." Former Narberth and Pembrokeshire players who would like to attend the event and anyone wishing to donate auction prizes can contact either Dorian Phillips on (01994) 448435 or another former club chairman, John Matthias, on (01834) 860150. The match will kick-off at 2.30 pm and admission is £5, with free entry for children under 16.
