THE search for the new Miss Pembrokeshire has begun.

Organisers are looking for young women who want to take part in an empowering experience and do their bit for good causes at the same time.

The current Miss Wales, Sophie Moulds is from Ferndale and came second in Miss World this year, which has opened up a year of travel and opportunity with the organisation's charity, Beauty With A Purpose.

"We are looking for positive role models from the region who are keen to broaden their horizons. Sophie has proved that a Welsh girl can do it and we really want others to follow her lead," said event organiser, Paula Abbandonato.

Contestants who do well in Miss Pembrokeshire will be guaranteed a place in the grand final of Miss Wales 2013 next year.

The contestants will be tasked with raising money for charity as part of the Miss Wales and Miss World commitment to Beauty With A Purpose.

Director of Vibe, Paula Abbandonato, said: "The success of the regional heats last year surpassed all expectations and saw hundreds of girls grow in confidence, have fun and raise thousands for our adopted charity."

The event is open to young women aged 16-24 from across the region who have not been married or had children. They must also be Welsh (or have Welsh heritage) or have lived in Wales for more than five years.
