The hunt is on for a new car park for Narberth. The ever-increasing lack of car park spaces available on the Town Moor site continues to cause problems as the town continues to grow. County Councillor Wynne Evas is now actively involved in finding a secondary location for car parking for general use and is in constant discussions with regard to possible sites. "If Narberth is to continue to generate extra trade and tourism, the need for more parking spaces is essential," Clr. Evans said. He continued: "Concerns have been raised as to why the James Williams site in Spring Gardens could not have been chosen as the other car park, but the huge value of that land to purchase would not have been viable with no capital funding available." There will also be many new residential developments coming to town which have to have car spaces as well. "When the school relocates, the existing playground will become part of the car park area, but this certainly is insufficient for a town that is becoming an ever more popular town to shop, visit and live in, so the intention is to try to identify any new possible locations," Clr. Evans added.
