Dyfed Powys Police requested coastguard attendance at Saundersfoot at 11.13 am on Sunday to assist in their search for a missing 46-year-old man who was reportedly suffering mental health illness and had been last sighted the previous evening in the village.

As the South Pembs. sector manager and Tenby coastguard arrived on scene, updated information obtained by police indicated that the missing person had been at Withybush Hospital in the early hours of the morning and was subsequently thought to have returned to his home area in Risca, Gwent.

As there was no longer reason to presume the missing person was in the Saundersfoot area, the coastguard units were stood down.
