Today's Royal Air Force is saluting Pembroke Dock's Battle of the Atlantic Weekend by providing a Sea King helicopter which will carry out a rescue demonstration with the Angle Lifeboat.

The Sea King, from Chivenor, and the Tamar Class lifeboat Mark Mason will be in the area off Hobbs Point, Pembroke Dock, around 12 noon on Saturday.

During the exercise, two people will be winched out of the water and lowered onto the lifeboat.

Good views of the demonstration can be had from Hobbs Point and other vantages along the waterfront.

The exercise is subject to operational requirements by both the aircraft and the lifeboat.

The Pembroke Dock Sunderland Trust is organising various events to mark the 70th anniversary of the Atlantic Campaign. These include the two-day exhibition at the Pater Hall (Friday and Saturday), guided walks from the Pater Hall and an open-air service of commemoration at the Dockyard Chapel on Sunday, when a memorial will be unveiled.

Further details are in the programme available at the Pater Hall and local outlets.
