A new art exhibition, Sea-Change by Denis Curry, was officially opened at Tenby Museum and Art Gallery on Friday by David Buckman, author of The Dictionary of Artists in Britain since 1945.
In his speech, Mr. Buckman acknowledged the wonderfully enriching works by Denis and compared the combination of science and humanities in Denis's work with the debate between CP Snow and FR Leavis from the 1950s.
He stated that Snow, who argued that since Victorian times too much emphasis had been placed on the humanities subjects over the sciences, would have appreciated Denis Curry's work which marries scientific vigour with poetic imagery.
Denis has a preoccupation with flight and has studied the mechanics of bird flight in great detail. He is also a member of the Royal Academy of Aeronautics.
Much of the work within the exhibition reveals this deep-seated interest as well as his inspiration drawn from nature.
The sales exhibition features works in bronze, drawing and painting and is on show until October 9.
