The Marine Society and Sea Cadets have already raised £3.8m of the £5.6m target for the new sail training ship to replace the 40-year-old TS Royalist. The 400 UK sea cadet units have been asked to help with the final push to reach the target.

Tenby Unit joined with all the other units in a sponsored row last weekend. The boys and girls from Tenby Unit had set a target of rowing 22 miles, the equivalent of the distance by sea from TS Tenby to the next unit around the coast, TS Warrior at Pembroke Dock. The cadets, working in relays, but sponsored individually, completed the row in under four hours.

Tenby Unit would like to thank Tenby Leisure Centre staff and the Tenby harbourmaster for helping supply the rowing machines and the kind people of Tenby who cheered and supported the cadets in Tudor Square during a very wet, cold and windy day.
