Sir, In February, the 1st Kilgetty Scout Group is celebrating its 25th anniversary since formation in 1980. To mark this occasion, we are planning an open evening with a display of memorabilia and photographs of the past 25 years, especially of the first 10-15 years. Therefore, we would like to hear from any of the original members and leaders of the group. There was a group in Kilgetty from February 1931 until closure in July 1945. Is there anyone in the locality who might have attended then? We'd be pleased to hear from you or meet you. If anyone would be willing to lend us any photographs or other items, we would take care of them and return them afterwards. We would be most grateful if we could receive any photographs or information before Friday, January 21, to give us time to prepare for the evening. The evening planned is on Friday, February 4, from 7 pm onwards, with tea and coffee served, and also an opportunity to chat to our present leaders. On Saturday, February 5, the present members will have a chance to take up a challenge from the staff of XLWales from Swansea who have kindly agreed to come down for the day - so if any ex-members are around on the Saturday, come and meet our present members. We are still always looking for leaders. Please contact me if you are interested or would like to come along to the evening, or have any photographs we could borrow. The number is 01834 813132 and the e-mail address is [email protected]">[email protected]
