A special tapestry commemorating the history of the Scout and Guide Hall in Tenby has been unveiled this week.
The tapestry was the brainchild of Jan Evans, vice-chairman of the Tenby Scout and Guide Hall committee, and former Guide leader, to preserve the many happy memories associated with the old hall.
It was designed by her artist son, Darren, who lives in Oregon in the US.
Doreen Hammersley, vice-president Girlguiding Cymru, and past Tenby Guider, and County Commissioner, arranged the colours, and past Guider, Barbara Morris sorted out all the wools used.
Every member, and many past members put in at least a few stitches, and their names are preserved in a book which accompanies the tapestry.
It was thought fitting that Mrs. Hammersley should unveil the tapestry along with its designer Darren, who was over from the USA.
The unveiling was celebrated with a cheese and wine evening, compered by chairman of the hall committee, Colin Jones, and attended by Guiders past and present, representatives of the present day units, County Guiding president, Kathleen Phillips, and members of various organisations who have supported the hall over the years.
