Married recently at Baronscraig Hotel, Rockcliffe, were Andy Ferguson and Anne Rowe. The groom is the son of the late Sam and Gladys Ferguson, of Ballyclare, Co. Antrim, Northern Ireland, while the bride is the daughter of the late Brinley and Nellie Rowe, of Tenby. The groom is a professor of biology at Queen's University, Belfast, and a world renowned scientist in the field of genetics of salmonid fish. The bride is headteacher of an integrated college in Northern Ireland. She is a former deputy head at Greenhill School, Tenby. Given away by her brother, Alan Rowe, the bride wore a deep red designer dress with organza and sequin overlay. She was attended by her niece, Kelly Rowe, who acted as bridesmaid. She wore a short off-the- shoulder designer dress with lace matching wrap, made by the bride. Best men were Ewen and Neil Ferguson (groom's sons), while the ushers were Rhys and Gethin Hewson and Ben Rowe (bride's nephews). The ceremony was conducted by Gerrie Douglas- Scott, with organist being Pipe Major Stuart McCulloch. At the wedding reception, the 40 guests enjoyed a menu based on wild Solway salmon and wild Galloway venison and organic products. This was followed by an evening reception by a Ceilidh and Scottish and Irish dancing. The couple spent their honeymoon touring Scotland and are making their home in Castle Douglas, Scotland.
