Clr. Aden Brinn, chairman of the Pembroke Dock and Pembroke Joint Twinning and Tourism Committee, and Clr. Dai Boswell, twinning committee member from Pembroke Town Council, recently visited Pembroke's twin town of Bergen in Lower Saxony in Germany on the occasion of the annual Schutzenfest held in the town.

Towns in northern Germany annually celebrate the Schutzenfest, while in southern Germany carnivals are held.

During the visit, discussions were held with a view to the town band from Bergen, the Fanfarenzug Stadt Band, together with members from the shooting club, the Schutzencorps, visiting Pembroke Dock in July 2014 for the town's bicentennial celebrations.

The Fanfarenzug Band visited both Pembroke and Pembroke Dock several years ago when they marched through Pembroke and held a concert at the Pater Hall in Pembroke Dock.
