Sir, I have just attended the Pembrokeshire County Council cabinet meeting as a parent upon the proposal to close Penally School on August 31, 2006. The proposal by Clr. Islwyn Howells and all the proliferation took only threequarters of an A4 sheet of paper, which I wrote in longhand. Fair enough, this opportunity at County Hall asked for an audience only and listen only principle, which was not easy when councillors fall domino fashion, with the proposal seconded and carried. The fate of our endearing, wonderful school was decided amongst something like ASBO's, the small business rate and fisheries act! Do not get me wrong, they are all very commendable issues - but it put into perspective the county values. I wanted to whistle down the oval table that song, how did it go... 'Follow me, I'm the 'Pied Piper'.
Yvonne M. Nicholl BSYA (Veg Th) Penally.
