A team of boys from Stackpole VC School has beaten schools from across Wales to win a relay swimming championship.

Jago Neath, Perry Mainwaring, Patrick Bunker and George James beat reigning champions, Y Bont Faen, Cowbridge, to win the Welsh Primary Schools Sladen Swimming Championships at Brecon on Friday in a time of 1.05.76 minutes.

Richard Simon helped the team to qualify in the Pembrokeshire round during Jago's absence. Headmaster Kevin Phelps said he was extremely proud of the boys.

"Stackpole was one of the smaller schools taking part, so it was a great achievement for the team," he said.
