Congratulations to Aimee Hughes who has just been chosen as Ysgol Dyffryn Taf’s ‘Sports Personality of the Year 2016’.

Aimee, who will be celebrating her 18th birthday on Sunday, received her award at a sports dinner held at the Plas Hyfryd Hotel, Narberth.

A talented ‘all-rounder’ on the sports field, Aimee has represented Wales at cricket since she was 11 and has now been chosen for the Under 19s and Senior sides.

She also plays hockey, netball and basketball, again representing her country in that up until the age of 14.

Daughter of Euros and Yvette Hughes, of the Alpha Inn, Tavernspite, Aimee is wished all the best for the forthcoming season.

She is seen receiving her award from PE teacher Jo Phillips.
