Wednesday, March 11, was National No Smoking Day, when people all over Britain were encouraged to give up smoking cigarettes.
At Tenby Junior Community School, a competition was held in which the pupils were asked to highlight the dangers of smoking and to send a message to everyone that if you never start smoking, you won't ever need to give up!
Pupils were asked to write and perform a rap, individually or in groups.
The standard of the entries was extremely high and headteacher Mrs. Jan Llewellyn commented that it was a pity more people did not have the opportunity to hear the brilliant messages. The raps were performed on Thursday morning and the two student teachers acted as judges.
The delighted winners are pictured after the presentation of certificates on Monday.
They were: 1. Tia Brace and Elizabeth Stewart-Walvin; 2. Natty John, Adam Davidson, Matthew Webb, and Aran Williams; 3. Milo Stone and Jack Broadhurst; 4. Ibo Erdogan, George Amos, Jo-jo Durham and Bobbie Preston.
All pupils gained valuable house points for their individual houses and passed on vitally important health messages!
