Sir, May I, through your letter's column, take this opportunity to formally thank those residing in close proximity to Tenby Junior Community School, for their patience and consideration during the last 15 months whilst extensive building work has been taking place at the school. I know that for many years staff employed at the school and visitors have encroached on the parking areas outside the residents' homes both at St. David's Close and Tudor Way. Since mid-February, the school's parking facilities have been extended and this should no longer be an issue for residents. May I also say a special thank you to the local young teenagers and adults who have shown respect for the site during the building work. There was not one incident that caused concern during the whole project and that is a commendable achievement. As a gesture of thanks, the staff and I would like to invite the local community to visit the school to see the transformation that this building project has made to the school environment - both inside and out. The date we have set is Friday, May 4, between 1.30 and 2.45 pm. Please come along sometime during the afternoon, when guided tours will be given by the school's ambassadors and council. The school has disabled access. Please wear suitable footwear if you would like to visit the new outside-classroom in the nature area as well. If you are unable to attend on that day, please contact the school if you would like to visit at another time.
Janice M. Llewellyn (Mrs.), Headteacher.
