On Monday, at the Community Centre, Kilgetty, representatives of the now closed Pentlepoir School, together with representatives of the Begelly Kiletty Community Association, Pembrokeshire County Council and Pembrokeshire Education Authority met for the official handing over of a clay mural created by past pupils of Pentlepoir School under the guidance of artist Paul Webb.

The mural, depicting aspects of life, industry and leisure associated with the local area, was kindly given to the Begelly Kilgetty Community Association by representatives of the recently closed school for display in the community.

The mural has now been caringly mounted and framed on the wall in the Community Centre at Kilgetty, together with photographs of pupils at work with artist Paul Webb.

It is an aesthetically pleasing work of art and a piece of local history, which will bring pleasure to those who view it now and in the years to come.

It will take pride of place in the new Community Centre when it is built.

The Community Association is delighted to have the mural on display in the area where the school played such a vital role and as a constant reminder of the school's valuable contribution to the education and welfare of its pupils and also of the high esteem in which the school was held over many decades.
