A message from Clr. Sue Perkins, chair of Pembroke Dock Festival Group
This is the third year of the Pembroke Dock Midsummer Festival and this year promises to be the best yet. There will be a full week of events, including the very popular Fun In The Park on Sunday, June 15, a full day of activities and entertainment for people of all ages in Pembroke Dock's Memorial Park. There is a week long exhibition in the library, heritage walks, lots of workshops, a Fairtrade bingo and loads more. To celebrate Seafair Milford Haven 2008, there will be a watery theme on Saturday, June 21, when we celebrate Midsummer Day with a grand parade through the town in the afternoon and our festival finale, Ceilidh, in the evening with the Simon Care Trio at Hobbs Point. I hope everyone will come along and join us in what will be a fantastic festival.
About the Simon care Trio
This version of the trio features Simon Care on melodeons, Guy Fletcher on fiddle, Rob Emmins on keyboards, and Gerald Claridge on acoustic guitar. Anyone spotted the deliberate mistake? - this four- piece trio is certainly value for money! Drawing on experience gained from playing with the likes of Edward II, The Albion Band, Little Johnny England and the Lark Rise Band, this trio is, without doubt, one of the finest ceilidh bands in the UK. Playing a mix of old and new, the boys are well received countrywide and especially on the festival circuit.
