The town of Pembroke Dock is gearing up for an influx of visitors as the second annual Pembroke Dock Midsummer Festival gets underway. From today (Friday), the eight day festival celebrates the arrival of summer, and has entertainment for all the family from paintballing to parades. Kicking off today with a folk night, beer festival and even the chance to go crabbing, the festival includes a family fun day on Sunday where there will be a climbing wall for the brave, paintballing, bouncy castles, live music and a parade on midsummer's day, Thursday, June 21. There will also be guided walks, food and wine events, live music and dancing to enjoy all week. Event secretary Don Earl said: "This year's event promises to be even bigger and better than last year's festival, and will be a great day out for all the family as there really will be something for everyone. "With activities ranging from paintballing to story tellers, tea dances to beer tasting, it's going to be a packed schedule, culminating in the midsummer procession through the town. I hope everyone will come along and support what is going to be a fantastic event." The festival is free to enter and runs until next Friday, June 22.
