If you want to finish the festive season on a high, then Amroth is the place to be on New Year's Day. It's the Amroth Dippers 17th anniversary New Year's Day Swim. As a result of their brave, or some would say mad effort, local charities have benefited to the tune of £60,00 over the past 16 years. Two of the charities that will benefit this year are Tenby RNLI and the Wales Air Ambulance, as well as other local charities and good causes. If you want to blow away the cobwebs from the night before, then go and 'cheer on' the hardy swimmers or better still join them in the briny! The fun begins with the run into the sea at 12 noon and will continue afterwards with mulled wine and hot pork rolls. If you are up early enough you could even take part in three swims, with Saundersfoot and Wiseman's Bridge also holding plunges before the Amroth dip.
