Enthusiasts of the West South Wales Section of the Vintage Motorcycle Club will be holding their 47th annual Saundersfoot event next weekend.
On Friday, September 20, members will meet up with friends and fellow competitors at 8 pm at the Sports and Social Club, Saundersfoot.
The following day, Saturday, September 21, they will be on Saundersfoot Harbour at 9 am. The first bikes will leave at 10 am and will continue to leave in pairs at minute intervals until they have all left the village.
On the way around, competitors have to pass a number of control points. The time they arrive at each will be noted, before they carry on following the route until the next control point. There are penalty points added if a rider arrives early or late, or if they arrive at a control point from the wrong direction or miss it completely.
This carries on until they finish the 90-mile route. When the times are all in at the end of the day, the results can start to be worked out. It is hoped to see at least 100 entries on Saturday.
After a night's rest, the next morning, Sunday, September 22, the competitors will be on Saundersfoot Harbour at 10 am for a static display, before leaving at 11.30 am on a social run of 50 miles.
The riders say they will enjoy meeting and talking to anyone who would like to go along to see them. All welcome.
