Police are warning local people to be wary of an email alleging to be from BT.

The email states that it has been sent by BT to inform you that they are unable to process your most recent payment of bill.

Due to this, to ensure that your service is not interrupted, it requests you to confirm and update your billing information by clicking on a link.

Police urge anyone who receives an email like this to delete it without clicking onto the link.
