How can you spot a scam? What’s the best way to deal with unwanted callers? Where can you go for help?

These and other questions regarding scams will be answered at special drop-in sessions held in Pembrokeshire libraries during June.

The scam awareness sessions will be held at various libraries across the county.

Officers from Pembrokeshire County Council’s trading standards team and local PCSOs will be available to offer advice and information on any questions which members of the public may have.

The sessions are being held as part of the 2017 Festival of Learning, hosted by Pembrokeshire Libraries.

They will be held: Tuesday, June 13 - Tenby Library, 10 am - 1 pm; Wednesday, June 14 - Milford Haven Library, 2-5 pm; Wednesday, June 21 - Pembroke Dock Library, 10 am - 1 pm; Thursday, June 22 - Fishguard Library, 10 am - 1 pm.

Clr. Pat Davies, cabinet member for regulatory services and planning, said: “Increasingly, we are all becoming targets of either on line or telephone scammers.

“This offer of advice will focus on how to identify scams and how best to avoid this criminal activity.”
