Sir,
In the current economic and energy-aware times, the South East Energy Group, based in Saundersfoot, is trying to research as many energy-saving ways as possible.
To date, dozens of low-energy light bulbs have been distributed free to local people and the group have a number of energy-measuring meters to loan to anyone who wants to check how much electricity their individual appliances are using.
It has been a revelation to many people (a) how much say, a kettle uses for instance and (b) how much money can be saved quite easily with a bit of forethought.
The meetings are a general talking-shop of ideas for saving energy, with wind and solar power regularly discussed. A visit to a privately owned wind turbine was very informative and could, hopefully, be achieved locally.
At 7 pm on Thursday, March 19, Chris Lord Smith will be coming to a meeting at the Regency Hall to give general advice on solar water heating.
Anyone who is interested in saving energy (and money) would be well advised to come to one of the group's meetings as there is always information to be learned and thought-provoking ideas and discussions to enjoy.
Tessa Pearson,
Saundersfoot.
