Sparse lunches for Lent continue at Tenby churches this week - with local people eating a little - to save the world.

The annual lunches, organised by Tenby Christian Aid, are fast becoming one of Tenby's top fund-raising efforts - and everyone is warmly welcome to join in.

The next lunchtime snack on Wednesday (March 25) is at St. Mary's Church House at noon. A suggested donation of £2.50 - and hopefully more - will go to help desperately poor families all over the world.

Major Martyn Clements, chairman of Christian Aid in Tenby, said: "We hope many local people will all come along to our lunches to do their bit for the starving families. Everyone is welcome.

"We can't promise a banquet, though. This is a frugal meal in the spirit of Lent - soup, a roll and coffee or tea."

After Wednesday, there are two more lunches planned - the Salvation Army (April 1) and St. Johns (April 8).

Anyone who hasn't time to lunch is invited to leave a donation at the door or with the Christian Aid secretary at 9 Crackwell Street.
