Speaking at Tuesday night's meeting of the town council, Clr. Mrs. Brown said that she had been dismayed to read in a recent issue of the Observer that the annual general meeting of the society on March 9 may be the last.
"It was very sad to read that it may be the last general meeting because they can no longer find volunteers to do the work of the management committee," she commented.
"It is sad that out of 150 members they cannot find a chairman, secretary and treasurer as well as a steering committee, because this society has done a great deal for Tenby over the years.
"We may not always have seen eye to eye, but they have always been there to monitor what we do and safeguard the environment and heritage of Tenby.
"I sincerely hope that someone will be able to come forward and help them keep going," she concluded.
