Sir,
The golden soft sand that we all grew up with, in which your feet would sink up to your ankles, will be a distant memory. The disappearance of our beach has not just happened overnight, but over a long period of time, which has been written about, talked about, but still not a thing is being done to stop the loss of this jewel.
We must take advice and look at other beach resorts. Bournemouth, for example, has groynes about every 200 yards and their beach stretches for miles, with soft golden sand, which prove the groynes must work?
Or will it be in not so many years that I'll be saying to my grand kids while sitting on the Esplanade, "Hey kids there used to be a lovely beach and a golf course out there." ("I think it's time to take grandad home now, he's waffling on again").
So to the powers that be, take heed. Fix it or lose it.
Peter Thomas (aka Siddux or TNT),
Treffgarne, Greenhill Road, Tenby.
