As part of Pembrokeshire Fish Week, Saundersfoot’s Chamber of Tourism have pulled together a week full of activities and promotions for locals and visitors to enjoy.
The week kicks off tomorrow (Saturday) with a series of free events at Coppet Hall – the Welsh Federation of Sea Anglers are sending three members, with over 57 years’ experience between them, to demonstrate angling techniques and offer advice.
The West Wales Model Club will be bringing a range of models to demonstrate, including tractors, tanks and boats. Children will love exploring the beach and cooking in the Seaweed Kitchen.
FSC (Field Studies Council) Orielton will be leading a beach safari along Saundersfoot main beach and exploring the rock pools.
During the week there will be opportunities to undertake a beach clean and create artwork and sculptures with Art and Education by the Sea.
Explore the geology and flora and fauna of the coastline between Saundersfoot and Monkstone with FSC Orielton.
Many businesses will be participating in the Finding Saunders trail – and your help is sought voting for the best dressed window. In addition, there are several locations offering ‘Fish Week Specials’ – either on their menus or discounts on sea related products. Live music will feature throughout the week – with performances by the Vagrants Crew; Fishguard Folk Singers; Ukulele Band; Footbridge and Butch.
The week ends with a pop-up cinema at the Regency Hall on June 29 – with the matinee Finding Dory and an evening screening of Fishermans’ Friends.
