Saundersfoot Rotary Club’s annual Christmas meal to celebrate the festive season was once again held at the Club’s headquarters at Wiseman’s Bridge Inn on December 19, when Club members, partners and friends enjoyed an excellent traditional four course meal cooked and served with full trimmings by the attentive staff of the Inn.

Rotarian Peter Williams, who is the speaker and programme secretary of the club, invited the Reverend Steve of St Issells Church as the guest speaker for the evening to about forty people who attended the celebratory meal.

The Club president John Walker-Smith introduced and welcomed Reverend Steve and after everyone had enjoyed a sumptuous meal the Vicar addressed the group with his Christmas message

The mainly Christian theme that was chosen also took everyone on a journey across the world where other countries at this of year celebrate their own traditions.

Some of the countries visited besides Wales were Japan, Italy, Ukraine, and Norway.

The audience found the talk entertaining informative and very educational which was an indication of the research that Reverend Steve had put into his delivery.

Rotarian Brian Jenkins gave a vote of thanks for his visit to the Club which was one of the first the vicar had received since recently moving into the area.

To finish his speech Reverend Steve wished everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, he also stated how much he had enjoyed the evening.

The evening was a great success thanks to the hard work put into the event by Chris Stephens the house liaison officer, and has been the first Club get together since the Covid lockdown.

Rotarians look forward to many more and wish everyone a happy, healthy, and prosperous New Year for 2023.
