A women from Saundersfoot is gearing up for next year’s London Marathon after successfully earning a spot on the start line.
Forty-two-year old Amy Yarney found out the news last Saturday.
Ms. Yarney, who has four boys, is no stranger to events such as this having run the Tenby 10k with the South Beach Bootcampers in 2012.
She went on to do several half-marathons in Cardiff, Swansea, Llanelli and LCW.
Ms.Yarney competed in her first marathon in July of this year when she successfully completing the LCW marathon.
The 42-year-old will be running at the London Marathon in aid of the LOOK UK charity.
LOOK UK is a small, national charity providing help, support and information for visually impaired young people, their carers and families.
Amy Yarney said: “I can’t believe I got a charity spot as I know how hard it is to get a place.
“I’m still pinching myself and I’m super excited to be given this opportunity and feel privileged to run for this amazing charity.
“I can’t wait to enjoy the run, sights and atmosphere on the day
“I feel privileged that I’ll be able to represent LOOK UK on April 26, 2020, and hope to raise as much funds as possible.”
