Many hundreds of pounds worth of prizes are up for grabs in a fundraising draw which aims to raise £3,000 to fund future events and festivities in Saundersfoot.

The Saundersfoot Winter Draw, being promoted by Saundersfoot Chamber for Tourism (SCT), features prizes generously donated by members of the organisation.

They include hotel, food and restaurant vouchers, jewellery, fishing trips, a beauty treatment and even a will-writing service.

The project is being led by SCT member Sara Hicks, who has been raising money for charity for many years.

Sara - who moved to Pembrokeshire three years ago and works for Pembrokeshire Wealth Management in Saundersfoot - spearheaded a similar prize draw while she spent 10 years working for the NEC in Birmingham.

“So when I realised that Saundersfoot Chamber for Tourism needed a bit of a cash injection, I thought I’d re-create the idea here,” she said. “The response has been amazingly positive, both from SCT members donating prizes and the wonderful comments we are getting on our JustGiving page.”

SCT is a not-for-profit organisation, whose member subscriptions go towards hosting popular Saundersfoot events including the spectacular New Year’s Eve fireworks, the Big Bang Weekend, the Cawl Trail and the upcoming Coastal Christmas events.

Explained Sara: “SCT also have other ideas for developing attractions around the village, which will be for the benefit and enjoyment of local people and visitors alike, but none of this can happen without further money.”

Tickets for the Saundersfoot Winter Draw are available for £1 in many local restaurants and cafes, and they can also be bought via the JustGiving page - www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/saundersfootchamberfortourismfundraising - which can also be accessed through the Visit Saundersfoot Facebook page.
